VIWG COVID-19 Update

VIWG COVID-19 Update

The Vancouver Island Woodworker’s Guild continues to put a priority on the health and safety of our members and the community at large. Recent recommendations from Public Health Authorities directed toward many community activities have caused the VIWG Executive to cancel the April 14th Guild meeting. The fate of future meetings will be considered as the impact of COVID-19 continues to be assessed.

The Wood Sale planned for March 22nd has also been postponed. We will reschedule as soon as possible. Small group sales are possible as we want to
get this wood to our members! If you have any questions, please contact Phil Makin 250.592.4033 or pmakin@shaw.ca

Please note that the MIWG Wood Sale for March 21st has been cancelled. Check the MIWG website (miwg.ca) for more information.

Update: Visions in Wood 2020 Show and Sale
Yesterday, we received an update from management of the Arts Centre at Cedar Hill, the location of our show. They informed us that the show could be cancelled for health reasons but is still on! That’s great news. Thanks to our members enthusiastic response, we have a show ready to set up on April 21
and open to the public on April 22. We will keep you, our members, informed of any updates and expect more information early in April.

If you have any questions, please contact the Show Committee: Phil Makin(250.592.4033 pmakin@shaw.ca) or Frank Letchford(778.426.3387 frank48@shaw.ca)

For now, we wish you the best as we all adjust to our situation. We hope you are able to spend some time in your shop! Stay safe and keep well!
