VIWG COVID-19 Update

VIWG COVID-19 Update

The Vancouver Island Woodworker’s Guild continues to put a priority on the health and safety of our members and the community at large. Recent recommendations from Public Health Authorities directed toward many community activities have caused the VIWG Executive to cancel the April 14th and May 12th Guild meeting. The fate of future meetings will be considered as the impact of COVID-19 continues to be assessed.

The Wood Sale planned for March 22nd has also been postponed. We will reschedule as soon as possible. Small group sales are possible as we want to get this wood to our members! If you have any questions, please contact Phil Makin 250.592.4033 or pmakin@shaw.ca

Update: Visions in Wood 2020 Show and Sale

On April 1, The Arts Centre at Cedar Hill formally advised us that our reservation in their Gallery for Visions in Wood 2020, which was scheduled to open on April 22nd, has been postponed.  Depending upon how the current situation evolves, they will try to re-schedule our Show for sometime this fall.  If that is not feasible, they will endeavour to move our reservation to a year from now, April 2021.   A big thanks to our members for your enthusiastic support of Visions in Wood!

If you have any questions, please contact the Show Committee: Phil Makin(250.592.4033 pmakin@shaw.ca) or Frank Letchford(778.426.3387 frank48@shaw.ca)

For now, we wish you the best as we all adjust to our situation. We hope you are able to spend some time in your shop! Stay safe and keep well!
