Visions in Wood – April 2018

VIWG Woodworking Exhibition and Sale

The Vancouver Island Woodworker’s Guild¬† Woodworking Exhibition and Sale begins April 4th and runs to April 29th in the Arts Gallery at Cedar Hill Recreation Centre (3220 Cedar Hill Road).

This is a non-juried exhibition and sale intended to promote local woodworking craft, materials and design to the general public. An additional objective is to promote the Guild as a local not-for-profit organization.

The Arts Gallery at Cedar Hill is a spacious secure venue. There is approximately 750 square feet of floor space, so large items are welcome. There will also be access to a locked display case for exhibiting small items.

Woodworkers of all skill levels are invited to participate. Items can be displayed on a “for sale”, “not for sale”, or “not for sale but orders taken” basis.

There is good foot traffic through the Centre and ample free parking is available. The Guild previously hosted successful shows at this venue in 2013 and 2015.

We will be seeking volunteers to staff the exhibit a few hours each day.

The event coordinators’ goal is to accommodate every member wishing to participate, but we reserve the right to limit numbers if space availability becomes a challenge.

VIWG policy requires participants to sign a liability waiver form. Exhibit items are displayed at the partlcipant’s own risk, and insurance coverage on their work is the responsibility of each participant.
