Intermediate SketchUp

This is the first class of three for Intermediate Sketchup. The remaining two classes will be March 3rd and March 10th at the same time and place. The classes will be held at Erica’s Studio (5987 Oldfield Road).

The Intermediate SketchUp class is targeted to people who:
• Are competent with most basic SketchUp drawing tools
• Have completed at least one model in SketchUp previously
In this 3-session course, you’ll develop your own custom SketchUp template, practice using Layers, Scenes, and Styles, and get to know online resources such as the Component and Extension Warehouses.

Week 1 (2 hours)
• Advanced Drawing Tools – Tips and Tricks
• Fast Modelling – using shortcuts
• Using Layers, Scenes and Styles
• Creating your own SketchUp Template

Week 2 (2 hours)
• Components and Dynamic Components
• Component Warehouse
• Working with Rubies – Extension Warehouse
• In-class modelling support

Week 3 (2 hours)
• Working with custom materials
• Creating your own Libraries (components, materials)
• In-class modelling support

Each attendee will need to have a laptop with SketchUp Make 2016 downloaded or more recent 2017(this is a free download). An external mouse is highly recommended – touch pads are not very friendly when using SketchUp

A fee of $10.00 covers the three classes and must be paid one week before the first class. Payment options are as follows:

  1. bring cash or a cheque to the next Guild Meeting and give funds to Dany Coulombe
