Beginners SketchUp

This is the first class of three for Beginners SketchUp. The remaining classes will be March 3rd and March 10th at the same time and place. The classes will be help at Erica’s Studio (5987 Oldfield Road).

The Beginner SketchUp class is targeted to people who:
• Are competent and comfortable using computers (required!)
• Have not used SketchUp before, or
• Have tried using SketchUp but find themselves frustrated with the basic functionality

In this 3-session course, we’ll work our way through all of the basic SketchUp functionality, and practice using all of the tools while modelling a piece of furniture.

Week 1 (2 hours)
• SketchUp Concepts
• Basic Drawing Tools
• Axes and Absolute Dimensions

Week 2 (2 hours)
• More Drawing Tools
• Basic Navigation: Camera Views and Scenes
• Understanding the Dialog Windows

Week 3 (2 hours)
• More Drawing Tools
• Components
• Layers

Each attendee will need to have a laptop with SketchUp Make 2016 downloaded or more recent 2017(this is a free download). An external mouse is highly recommended – touch pads are not very friendly when using SketchUp
